What Do We Do?

  • Provide low-cost rental space for use by island non-profits and Whatcom County government for community meetings.

  • Provide free use of the Grange Hall for islander memorials.

  • Fund the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, proving free age-appropriate books for island kids from birth to age 5.

  • Fund the Words for Thirds program to provide a free dictionary for third graders.

  • Provide a college scholarship each year for an island student.

  • Host community social events to combat isolation and loneliness. Examples include the annual End of Dry Dock potluck, July Pancake Breakfast, August Salmon BBQ, present a Citizen of the Year Award to a deserving Islander, Fall Honky Tonk (live band, food, beer garden), and sponsor the (nearly) annual Lummi Island Parade.

  • Host (or co-host) free educational events such as townhalls, candidate forums, septic inspection classes, free line dance lessons.
